37° Flare Flange

The 37° flare flange connection is based on flaring the pipe ends to 37° and utilizing flare flanges and cone inserts. There are two cone inserts per union connection. One cone insert has an “O-Ring Face” and the other has a “Flat Face”. Mating these cone inserts and drawing the flanges together forms the connection. Both internal cones have backup O-rings.

Standard flare flanges and pipes are available from 1/2″ – 10″ and pressures, depending on size, up to 6000 PSI (420 bar). Tube-Mac® standard connection styles conform to SAE Code 61 / ISO 6162-1, SAE Code 62 / ISO 6162-2, and ISO 6164 flanges. We can provide custom flange patterns upon request.

Preparation

The flange is slipped onto the pipe before flaring. After flaring the pipe 37°, the cone is inserted into the pipe. Bolting the flanges together draws the flared pipes and cones in contact with each other. Proper bolt torquing is required.

Benefits

  • Unlike welded flanges, Tube-Mac® flare flanges rotate freely around the pipe for easy bolt alignment.
  • The flaring and installation time is measured in minutes versus hours for a welded connection.
  • The non-welded flare flange technology is clean, preventing contamination from being introduced into the piping systems.
  • The flare flange system is a fast and clean solution for connecting pipes, requiring less time to commission and oil flush the system.
  • The non-welded leak-free flange connection offers a significantly reduced overall installed cost when compared to a welded piping system.
